Thanks. I can't nail two boards together without hurting myself, so I'll never build a cabinet from scratch.
I had my reservations about building the cabinet. I decided to see if I could pull it off. Bought a new table saw and dado cutters and away I went. Made a couple of mistakes but I learned a lot at 68. My kids will have tools and amps and guitars to fight over! The cabinet turned out great!

I'm on potent blood thinners and tend to stay away from things that could cut me.

Very cool.
Always like your builds.
Good to see you poking your head in once in a while.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Replaced the ceramic 8" Weber speaker with a Weber Alnico Signature 8S. Much smoother sounding with a nicer breakup compared to the ceramic version.

Also decided to modify the circuit by adding a tone control ala a Tweed Harvard/Princton. Single coils were OK through the amp but humbuckers were too dark. Both sound really nice now with the control afforded by the tone control. I removed the low gain input and installed the tone pot in its place with a matching chicken head.

Good to see you pop in Bill, if only for a short update. Nice work on bringing in the Harvard mod to it. Hope all is well with you and yours.

Would like to build a 5E8A but no time with work and everything. :(
