Nor do the products command the respect they once did. Corporatocracy may march forward but quality and reliability were thrown from the bus and left somewhere on the roadside.

Blame the customers who value price and appearance over quality, and even over cost. The lower quality is pretty much pervasive.

Sure, some of the blame is on the producer side too, with bonuses not being paid for consistently exceeding specs but for consistently exceeding quotas, and QA not being encouraged to discover new flaws, but to follow checklists like robots.

But most of the blame lies squarely with the consumers, who think they save money by buying a cheaper priced product that often needs expensive fret work to even be playable, and a boatload of repairs down the road as the wood warps, caps vent, frets wear and expose pits, glue comes undone, and the burrs in the machines catch.

Some things are better now than before, but that is due to innovation, not quality. The guy with the wallet thinks quality means "looks like what [big hero] plays".

And the same is reflected in the music that's produced. Yes, there are a lot of good players. But there are a heck of a lot more who lacks both talent and the will to work hard. On an open mic night, it does not matter - everyone is welcome, but to charge even $10 for the door is robbery for most of the "musicians" who think they're a Jimi revenant. Some even land record deals, not based on merit, but sellability. To an audience who just doesn't care. A 99 cent song on iTunes/cduniverse or $10/month on Spotify to play through a 1" speaker is not someting that entices average Joe to care. And most aren't even willing to pay that. But will gladly spend $10 for popcorn and soda at a movie theater or $150 for a concert ticket with the same crappy band.

A lot of classic rock songs (surf era, CCR, British "invasion" groups, etc) feature the tremolo effect. It's a very pleasing sound so long as the circuit is designed and operating properly.

I write today . Because I talk about new Fender amps .
And you must use tremolo with reverb to on position. No reverb , no noise when switchong tremolo .

That is why I ( we ? ) never heard about tremolo noise issue .

And that's NOT the way the amp was designed to operate.

Customers who buy one of these so-called "re-issues" have every right to expect that it will perform in a manner consistent with the original models. Frankly I'm amazed that anybody would put up with this substandard merde and continue to buy these products.
