Was looking for Bassmaster. Obviously the wrong name but even armed with "Bassbreaker" I can find next to nothing about this amp.

Google "fender bass breaker 2015" and you'll find all available info.

These amps are a brand new series which aren't out yet. They're based on the Fender Bassman / Marshall Blues Breaker amps. At least the 45 watt version is. I first read about them here on Fenders site but I can't find it here now.

It does seem strange that there is nothing on the Fender site. The few YouTube clips are from distributors, so there are a few out there, but I guess these must be preproduction units.

From the clips they look and sound like great amps, strange looking knobs aside.

This practice is not without precedence. As I recollect, FMIC introduced the '68 Custom Vibrolux Reverb and the now-discontinued "VM" series Bandmaster and Deluxe Reverb in similar fashion.

Fenders got to have something new for the winter NAMM show. Also seems like products will be available for xmas shopping season.

I'd really like to read some reviews on each BassBreaker model before I buy anything. I have no idea if the amps will have any clean Fender sounds, or it will be all Marshall JTM 45 and BluesBreaker amp sounds, which I don't know much about.

I tried out a Bassbreaker today at GC with one of the new JH MIM Strats. I like it. It seems to be a clean circuit. If I did not have all the gear I have now, I could see me getting one of these. It seemed to be a pretty quiet circuit. I will try it out with a Nashville Deluxe Tele next time I go to GC. I like the way the treble boost button works on it as well. I hardly even tried it out. I did not want to be tempted to use my GC card right now. This has been a rough year for me in many ways including financially. When I cranked the gain on it, it responded well without unwanted electrical noise and such. I'll have to further check and see where these are made. If they are made here that would be a good factor I would look for. Hopefully it is a California made amp. Where ever it is made I like it so far. You can get a nice clean bark out of it.

I should mention on the post I just made on the Bassbreaker. It was the 7 watt combo with the EL84 I tried out. I did not even realize they had other models of it. The one I played was the only one I even saw at GC. Enjoy fellow gearheads.

What was the ticket on it? I appreciate that the price in the US is irrelevant when in the UK but the "What it says in $ is what I will end up paying in £" is a reasonable rule of thumb.

I received a GC Christman catalog a couple days ago with a 2 page spead. Several varios sized combos and a couple half stacks.

At £500 that would put it at the top end of a lot of alternatives from other manufacturers, Marshall, Laney, Hiwatt to name three. Perhaps I wont hold out for one after all.

And now we have the whole fleeting glimpse, sound bite, tease video released on YouTube. This sort of manipulative marketing annoys the **** out of me. It's not big, it's not clever and puts a black mark against the amp for me on the strength of it.

Marketing people seldom see things in the same manner as we "boots on the ground" musicians, John. Don't let their misguided machinations sour you on what might otherwise be a pretty usable piece of gear.
