I just got a Deville 212 used, and it worked fine in the store. When I took it home I noticed a scratching, static sound, especially when I play any E on the guitar including fretted E's. It also happens when it's not plugged in. It takes 5-10 minutes to warm up, then it stops. I think it might be one of the power tubes, and if so, what are the best replacements to get?

Any symptom related to certain notes indicates a tube coming apart, a bad speaker, or loose screws around the chassis .
Tube or speaker substitution is the normal diagnostic.
Tightening all the screws is a good idea for any Fender.
But in your case, its probably V1 or 2.

Or it was a bad contact and shop make more money selling you 2 power tubes.
I hope they do the bias.

I wish amp will be ok for long time.
