After a 2½ year gestational period, I've finally completed this speaker enclosure intended for use with my silverface Princeton head......

The original 2 x 12 cab I built for this conversion works well but it's large and can be a bit unwieldy for intimate jams and small venues. This smaller, one-lung iteration with its 15-inch JBL is significantly more portable and pushes some real hot-and-nasty grit when driven hard. Thus, the "Dual Porch Weasel" assumes an alter ego I'm calling "The Micro Weasel".

Traditional Fender construction is featured throughout -- solid pine planks, finger-joined corners, removable birch-ply baffle, and vintage-spec hardware. The D130F is a fresh re-cone with only about 35 hours on it, provided by fellow forum member "cedarblues" (thanks, Jamal!).

As usual, an outstanding job!! It looks like you just bought it home from a Fender showroom.

Arjay...Another time the T2 Scale doesn't go high enough! Just going to say...DAMN FINE WORK! Your attention to detail and slavishness to Sam Hutton's original building techniques is a testament to what a great cabinet builder both you are and he was.

Crank it!

Sweet...
I gotta believe a recently completed guitar sounds amazing through that rig and may be a perfect color match as well.
Very fine work.

Just stunning - as expected from you Arjay!

Love the piggyback treatment as well - what a treat! While I love my '65 Bandmaster combo, I find myself reaching usually for my Princeton Reverb for playing at home - with a 15" D130, oh my that would be great.

May have to get out the router and practice making a finger-jointed extension cab for a 15" speaker... I've never done finger joints before but working on pine, practice can make perfect...

Thanks for sharing!

My cab started out as a kit, nedorama.....about a hundred bucks IIRC. The planks were fully milled and the finger joints completely finished. Saved me both time and aggravation.

You build better Fender gear than Fender.

arjay- superb work as always!

please take this as a compliment-when I read your posts, I am reminded about seeing a great guitar player live-you know, a performance that makes your jaw drop. I don't know whether to be inspired, or go ,dang, i'll just never be that good. thanks for the great advice over the years.

while I never have worked on an amp, I have done work on my guitars over the years-replaced pickups, installed new pickguards-all stuff that I felt comfort with, but knew that I probably couldn't screw it up too badly. amps are another story. I don't know enough to mess with them. high voltage scares me-i'll leave it to the pros.

even though I'm getting up in years (61) and my best playing/gigging days are behind me, I still plan to get an old blackface amp. I like my mustang, but there is just no comparison.

keep the great posts coming arjay- I appreciate it.
