Got home from a hot date with the wife and had a few minutes before hitting the hay

So I plugged v-4 back in and removed v-5 and the white noise returned so........................

I can conclude that somewhere in the v-4 circuit is a bad resistor or cap

Should be an easy fix from here, I'll keep the one tube at a time method for future issues !

Thanks Beemer !

Sweet sounding powerful tones! Very nice. :)
This is the amp with the reconed CTS alnico 10-inch speakers, right? Did you post a photo of the amp, after full restoration?

So glad you brought this one from being unused, to a working unit.

Ya beemer Weber speakers reconed the old CTS alnicos
Just the bottom set so far, tops are holding strong as you know by the powerful low end that amp gives.

I think this may be the first video since I finished the complete restore of most of the circuits.

I do love this amp !

Here she is.
By all accounts she is a 1973 Super reverb with a non original choke and an earlier PT
so not all original by any means.
The last owner removed whatever original speakers and replaced the entire lot with WGS Veterans, for better or worse, most pre amp tubes are original 7025's and 12AT7's , power tubes are Tung-sol reissue 6L6GC and a big old Sylvania 5U4GB for a rectifier.
Still has tube balance (for a little while longer) and will be modded to a true Bias control.
Power tubes singing along at 35ma each.

Special thanks to Beemer (Steve) for a late afternoon panic LOL ! and now the amp sounds so stink'n sweet !
Sure i would rather have alnico CTS speakers but..............
Out the door price of 550 bones and a few minutes with a soldering iron and I already have myself a killer Super Reverb Tone MONSTER !!!

New 5AR4 Recti on the way (thanks again Beemer) ! and maybe a 5751 in V-2 ???

PS a correct USA made choke also on the way.

Follow up:
The PT is also a 1973 apparently Schumacher did some fancy switcheroos on date codes at least in 73
My #'s are as follows
K 022798 and a date code of 606-0673 making it the 6th week of 1973 so.........................

The choke is an obvious non original and will be replaced by a Classic tone 90ma USA made choke.

everything else date wise points to early 1973

The last owners "tech" already installed all new Sprague Atoms under the dog house and fresh F&T's on the topside board, all electrolytics are fresh and new (sweet) !

Now on to that choke and a nice GZ34 , hopefully some nice GE 6L6GC's are hiding in my stash in the basement ! 8)

Congrats, another fine specimen.
Do you still have the 74' w/ re-coned CTS?

No I don't have the 74 any more :(
I had a very hard year last year and had to sell most of my gear as I waited for an opening at my new job at the County Sheriff's office.
Lets just say the transition from Bail Bondsman to Sheriff's Deputy was complicated !

PS the speakers in the new SR are Guitar Warehouse Veterans not G10c or whatever i first thought.
I'll be hunting up vintage CTS or weber 10A125 to replace them eventually.
The Alnico speakers are in my humble opinion a big part of the sound, although it sounds splendid as it is !

I hear ya, I've had years or parts of em' that weren't the best of times.
Feels that much better when you can get back some of what you have had to give up.

Thanks guys !
I tried so many times to get my sound with smaller and cheaper gear and was never really happy with the results.
I need the 6L6 Fender sound, I suppose a Bassman head would have done it too, and then this SR came up and for only 550 bucks so.......... how could I say no.

So glad our PB pictures are back !
