In regards to the vibro champs, champs, broncos. Does anyone know the difference between a 8ev-29 & a R8ev-59? Are they the same speaker just different numbers based on year of production? I can't find any information anywhere.

Thanks.

My early '68 Bronco has the R8ev-59 and I believe it to be original to the amp. Beyond that I have no conclusive data to offer. Forum member "LightningNM" has a couple of Vibro Champs -- hopefully he may have some additional info to share.

FWIW... this is the OEM speaker from a 1964 VC. "8EVXK581."

And a 1966 VC. 8EV-52. With EIA code and date of manufacturer.

Speakers look identical in frame and magnet.

And they both look like the one in my '68 Bronco. Oxford's nomenclature may have changed over the years but I think in all cases the speaker remained essentially unchanged.

Thanks guys for the info, that's the speaker that came in my 74 bronco. So I guess that oxford made its way into at least a couple decades worth of amps.
