I imagine that combination delivered a great Jack Bruce/Felix Pappalardi vibe.

What about the Fender replacement speakers made by Eminence @ $109 each or the Celestion @ $60 each!.....just looking at what's available at Guitar Center that I have gift cards for

It that case, this one -> http://www.guitarcenter.com/Eminence-Legend-B102-10--200W-Bass-Speaker-667707-i1153804.gc
Perhaps a bit of overkill on the wattage handling, but it goes up to 9KHz and down to 40Hz and it is your best 'dual duty' choice.

I looked at your Celestion choice and at 45Hz to 3.5KHZ actually would be an excellent replacement for the stock CTS woofers. http://www.guitarcenter.com/Celestion-BL10-100X-10--100w-8ohm-Ceramic-Bass-Replacement-Speaker-J09514-i3710798.gc

With an SPL of 94 dB they're not very efficient. I wouldn't expect a lot of volume from them regardless of available input power.

The only thing I am worried about is I find these amps around for $500 or even less. I have a 72 that I bought in 1985 for $135. Love it with a P-Bass do NOT like it with a Jazz. One reason I keep it, on small gigs I will take it and other players see it and go nuts over it. I have other amps. I do like it but it's not my holy grail of tone. I do not like any of my guitars through it. I own every fender model except a mustang and/or duo sonic. It sucks with all of them. I always used a bass through it. I am worried you will put more money into it than it's worth. To me they are nice but they are for me a $350 amp and no more

Thanks for the input...I've asked myself the same thing...even thought about building a small cabinet just to house the electronics and scrapping the rest of the cabinet....that would only set me back around $150 for new tubes...or I put it on the back burner for now and buy new...looking at a Fender Rumble 500...?

That might be the best idea. Mate it to any stand-alone 8-ohm cab (containing guitar or bass speakers) which will make it easier to move, load, and transport. Mojotone offers a head cabinet for the Super Reverb which would take a lot of the work out of such a project.

I'd sell it, and buy a Fender Rumble 500. They totally kick Big Booty! :D For the $$$ you'd have to pump into the Bassman Ten to make it bass worthy once again just isn't worth it. The new V3 Rumbles bury all the old tube Bassman amps in terms of tone and volume. Not to mention extreme reliability. Rumble On!
