Lets see here, can I juggle three threads at one time ???

I have a non functioning late 60's Bandmaster Reverb head on the way
And that's really all I can tell ya, I did snatch a picture from the sellers page I really miss my old 68 I had a few years back. sweet reverb and 40 watts of 5AR4 / GZ34 tube rectified goodness

It was a bargain price an offer I couldn't refuse, hope the tranny's are OK

More to come next week when she arrives

Where do you find stuff like this? I have someone wanting to trade one of these for my Twin Reverb but I do not know the date or condition (or anything else about these for that matter). I would rather buy a project and fix it up than risk a trade like that. Either way, I'd like to see progress on this, very cool.

You are certainly on a roll! Seems to me I remember you getting on a roll amp wise sometime last year kind of like this! You sure have a nose for tuneful amp finds!

Congrats on another great find.

Just keep reading here and get some good tube amp books and eventually you can fix em yourself !
I followed a solid half dozen of the guys here around for a while, asked tons of questions and learned so much, i also got Gerald webers books and a few others.
Now I buy up every broken Tube amp I can find, have yet to loose a patient LOL !

I had a 68 Bandmaster Reverb a while back and really shouldn't have sold it !!!
Sweet tone machines 8)

T2 it seems to happen in cycles, dry times and then so many I can't take them all, living near a big city like Chicago helps !
Also being a Bail Agent leaves me with a lot of day time to wonder pawn shops, music stores resell etc.........
Funny how all the silverface amps came at one time.
I do love me some silverface amps (preferably 1968 and older)

Chris,

Nice pickup. I had a drip-edge SF Bandmaster Reverb (TFL-5005D). I put it into a DIY 2 X 10 inch cab. It had a BIG sound. I sold it to a guy that gigs regularly. AFAIK, he is still using it.

Be interested in how your amp sounds. Compared to your Bassman amps.

dang Beemer that sounds so cool !

I had that 68 BMR and kept it longer than any other amp I've owned over the last ten years, when i saw this opportunity I had to jump on it !

Got a nice Mullard GZ34 just itching to go in there 8)

This one is dead in the water !
Buyer took the money and ran ???
hasn't shipped and no communication for days so......................
Thankfully it is a pay-pal deal and they will pay me back eventually

I'm sure I'll get a note saying there was a family emergency, or their computer broke, internet was out etc.....
I've heard them all !

Oh well the thread that wasn't to be

Too bad. I have heard so many "bad news" EBay stories.

Better luck, next time! :D
