Looking at a few small point to point wired tube amps, found an all original(not too clean cosmetically) 76' champ, cheap, any good? or should I pass?

The Champs are great amps and the beauty of them is, they suffered very little diddling-for-diddling's-sake at the hands of "engineers" after the CBS corporate takeover. Thus, even a late-model silverface edition is still pretty much the way Leo designed it.

If the price is right, you can't go wrong.

I picked up the Champ today, a little rough, smells a bit musty, but got it cheap, sounds nice, very quiet little amp, just ran it clean for about 1 hour, no effects, it will sound nice with my pedal board, next pic will be the back with the panel off.Image

That loudspeaker *may* be a replacement.

Check with a DVM to confirm that it measures four ohms.

Record and post any numbers on the frame or magnet.

Thanks! so it is original to the amp? it has Fender in very faded black on the back of the magnet.
