I actually tried the link...I've read the book in the past and it's pretty decent, however the link requires the user to set up an account in order to download, so I didn't bother.

With that said, while it's been a few years since I've gone looking for books on tube amps, I suspect the ipso-facto standard is probably still The Tube Amp Book by Aspen Pitman. I think I've probably learned more about tube amps from that book than anything else I've ever read over the years. Certainly a must have for any tube amp aficionado.

Just my $.02...

I have Gerald's video. Lots of info there. I'm more of a visual hands on learner. Good stuff though.

Aspen Pittman's treatise is perhaps the most comprehensive examination of the intricacies of audio reproduction as applied to guitar amps yet published. Anyone with a serious interest in the how's and why's of what makes an amp work should definitely consider owning this volume. Weber's books are useful but only as an adjunct to "The Tube Amp Book" IMO.

Some additional resources...

Merlin Blencowe has written some nice books on tube amps. One on pre-amp/gain stages and one on power sections. His Valve Wizard site is a nice resource. Above intro level, but not too technical.

RG Keen wrote a nice FAQ section for amps, on the GEOFEX board.
