Now that we've got the '65 Deluxe sounding really great, I've decided to heed the other advice from you guys and 'take care' of that amp.

Can you guys give me some insights on your favorite road/ata cases? All of a sudden the stock amp covers seem so inadequate.

Thanks -doug

IME, you can't go wrong with ATA.

Too bad there aren't more replies here, I have to guess not too many people have actually sprung for a road case.

As far as ATA cases go, I'm sure most people here know that this refers to specifications for reusable shipping cases and containers put forth by the Air Transport Association called 'ATA 300'. These specifications are not specific to musical equipment. But they do provide some good guidelines for construction of road cases.

If you're not taking a flight any time soon and have no plans to ever put your amp on a plane, you might want to look at non-ATA cases to see if you can save some money there.

I don't see any air travel in my immediate future but... my favorite saying is, "I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it". Thanks for the advice guys.

So far as protection goes, ATA rated cases, offer you the premier rated cases for Air Travel, and by default, one of the best methods of overall protection for any other conveyance of your Vintage Amp !!

cheers!

Actually if you read the document, it's not really all that restrictive in terms of construction. Most of it would be done anyway as best practice for building something durable. There are lots of companies out there that far exceed these recommendations.
