I'm sure glad Fender was a little more organized than Valco was back then. At least there are workable schems with VOLTAGES available for them. What a pain in the arse. 6973's to boot. How foolish to go from stby-off-on.

On the bright side, it does seem to be true point-to-point wiring.

Ya I keep trying to convince myself of the positive aspect, but man they sure had an abundant supply of solder to use up. :? Probably used one of these.

You maybe able to rewire the sockets for 7189 (EL84M). Beware of heater draw differences.

And they aren't even Jensen speakers. Had a great pair of those and a Pioneer cassette deck in my 76 Camaro back in the day!

+1

I had a pair of Jensen Tri-Axials and an Aiwa deck in my '80 Z28. It was a great rig.

I built a small simple 5 watt amp true point to point and just finished a tube reverb unit the same way, and also built numerous pedals true point to point, but a project like that is insane. I'm old enough to remember stuff being built that way. There is a real construction difference between what some manufacturers call "Handwired PTP" and True Handwired PTP. There are no turret or eyelet boards in true PTP, just terminal strips components and miles of wire. You have a real challenge ahead of you.

Here's a photo of one of my pedals. A tube driven distortion.

Yep stratele52, I built the 102. It was my first build and It's a great sounding little amp. Very simple design. Solid state rectifier, an EL84 and a 12ax7 preamp tube with volume, bass and treble controls. Pretty easy to build and sounds huge through a 1x12 or 2x12 cab. I was actually using it for low volume rehearsals. For a little over $200 you can't beat it. I crank that thing all the time and never had an issue with it. The parts are nice and they use Hammond transformers. One of these days I'm going to build a cabinet for it. If anyone is looking for a five watt cheap, great sounding practice amp and learn something too, this is a great kit.
