My Vintage Twin Reverb will not power on. Could it be a bad fuse? Bad power tube? What should I look for in a bad fuse or bad power tube?

Thanks.

I'm not trying to be a smart $@! but try the following.

1. confirm plug is securely inserted in wall outlet (seriously)
2. check fuse on amp
3. plug a different piece of equipment into the same outlet to confirm you don't have a tripped circuit breaker or blown fuse (electrical panel)

Curious, when was the last time you played the amp?

Good advice here. Just a week or so ago, my '64 Princeton wouldn't power on, so I took it over to my amp tech, the first thing he checked was the fuse. Sure enough it was the fuse...and it was the original one to the amp. He said he felt bad since he had just serviced the amp four or five months back. Fuses blow, it happens. If it happens repeatedly, THEN you got a bigger problem.

Let's see....

Your amp works, but has a hum and rattling noise, so you mess around swapping tubes, then the amp doesn't work, so you start yet another thread about the same amp?

Is that about right?

Do us all a favor and don't start multiple threads about the same faulty amp. And, do yourself a favor and let someone that is qualified look at your amp.
