You guys are great. I was told that the speaker was a bass amp, I never could figure out a good reason why a person would hack up a guitar amp to put a bass speaker in versus just buying a bass amp. The guy at Guitar Center said it was a popular modification to do in those days because of the sound it made. In any event, he said it was a 1980 and wanted to give me $150 for it. I know they need to make money there but I figured that was a bit low.

Confirmation would be the Master Volume Pot which wasn't added 'til 1972.

If you have it, it's '80, if not, '70.

Definitely low. Speaker alone could bring that much on ebay, if in good shape. Some recently completed listings below. Bear in mind that these generally bring more in the EU, than the US.

Based on the serial number, power tranny number, no master volume control, I'll stick to my opinion that it is a 1970 amplifier, though obviously not completely original. Guitar Center guy just trying to justify his low offer. That's not to say this amp wouldn't need some servicing before they sold it. Probably could use a cap job at the very least.
