i'm currently in looking for an all original 59 bassman. i was wondering what people have found to be the main differences in the 5f6-a, to 5f6, and 5e6 circuits. i am looking for an amp with all original speakers and wiring, will settle with retweed. i just want the circuit with the sweetest sound, most headroom, good for anything from fingerpicking clean sweet music, to down an dirty aggressive blues. i've played a few tweed bassmans, and i can't forget how they sound, i NEED IT! and finally can get one after so many years of waiting.

WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR WHAT I NEED? any amp experts willing to divulge you knowledge on these amps? investing into an all original amp, for my playing, how many years should i get out of it before it'll absolutely need new caps and cones? on average i play maybe 7 hours a week, at modestly low volumes(apartment). it'll be loved and treated like a king. what does electrolytic caps do to the rest of the components when they dry out and ooze? will it ruin the rest of the amp, or just make it not play "right"…

First you may have lack of punch, second you'll have some hum, that's all.

will it ruin the rest of the amp, No

or just make it not play "right"…With new caps most of the time amp play better . Use only high quality caps like F & T or Sprague

On any second hand amp ,always check if fuse is the right one , too much powerfull fuse may burn power transformer in case of electrical short .
