Hello gang, I am going to acquire a 6G12a Concert amp that at this point is in a head cabinet. I've got a 4x10 cab from Mather cabs on order and am thinking of getting Weber 10A125 speakers for it. I guess my question is this should I go for the 20 watt or 30 watt version of these? Are there any other speakers that would be more suitable for this amp,any and all advice welcome.

IIRC, the 6G12a came w/ either the Jensen P10R, Jensen P10Q, Jensen C10R or Oxford 10K5.

It is a 40W, w/ impedance (very important).

New speakers rarely sound as good as the original vintage ones in a vintage amp.

If it were me (and if the existing speakers are the originals), I'd have them rebuilt/re-coned.

You'd be looking at near the same $$ as replacements with that added benefit of preserving the amp's Vintage integrity.

cheers!

+1K...On what he said.

Re-coned speakers is always the way to go...for original speakers.
