So, I was scoping a Twin Reverb II, Rivera-era, nifty and pretty clean... but it was in Oxnard, I'm in Fresno. Then I was scoping a '94 Twin Amp, in Lawndale... Wash, rinse , repeat. Then, by some magical happenstance, the day I turned down a SF Super Reverb reverted to head form and malfunctioning reverb (and who knows what else...) My local GC acquires a 1983 Fender Concert II and wants only $600!!! So, being friends with the manager and being a little short on funds of the moment, we worked out a deal... I put down 350 today, and it shall be mine by January 1st, a little post-Xmas gifft to myself if you will. Anyways, I demo'd this amp thoroughly and although I must admit, the tension and patience are murdering me, I absolutely LOVED the tone of this amp!!!! The clean is obviously brilliant, A/B'd with a 1964 BF Concert, 4x10, different fields, I know, but their cleans were equal in quality much to my glee, the "distortion" channel is exactly what I needed, a crispy, overdriven, bitey, crunch, remniscent of early Undertones, Clash, Real Kids, etc. Overall, I'm utterly stoked!

Thanks,
Eyan

Eyan...Welcome to the Club! They are great amps. I've had mine since new ('84) and it is the 2x10 version and was my main gigging amp during the late 80's, early 90's and it NEVER let me down. The gain channel does have some great crunch and works great with a Strat, Tele, and a P90 equipped Les Paul Special! Has a great blues tone too!

Here it is (lower right)
