Hey guys. New poster here. I just picked up a vintage Silverface Bandmaster with tremolo from Ebay.

I'll be using it for recording and I was wondering are there any sweet spots bit is which channel, input or volume etc along with speaker matching that I can use regarding 12 inch speakers.

I dont have the 2x15 cab, but I do have the following speakers to mic up:

55 and 77hz 70's blackbacks, 73 pulsonic era greenback, current production resissue greenback and a celestion gold.

I've got a ribbon mic, sm57 and a audix i5. I'll be doing the trial and error aspect of course, but are there any known killer settings that I may not think of?

It's been modded to pre CBS blackface specs. Not sure how legitimate that was but it sounds great! Even via crappy camera phone.

Congrats! I love my Bandmaster and had it put in a Newell 2x12 combo cabinet with Warehouse G12C/S speakers.

I'd experiment, both with cabs and mic placement, and see what you like best, which may differ for each song. Micwise the Audix i5 should sound like the SM57, since the goal was to make an SM57 that drummers couldn't destroy. I'd try the SM57 and the ribbon, and try close and near micing. I use a Sennheiser e906 on mine, but between distance, angle and position on the speaker, you've got a lot of tonal options with what you have. Enjoy!

Tone wise for me, I usually keep the treble and bass at 5, and bright switch on for hum buckers, off for my tele.

Have fun!

Thats pretty funny. My sweet spot is also everything on 5 with the bright switch. It's been a pleasure to use so far.
