I posted recently about buying a replacement 2 button foot switch for the vibrato/reverb.
I purchased the switch and the vibrato button works, but not the reverb. Some questions:
__
There's four inputs on the amp- Normal 1 and 2, and Vibrato 1 and 2.
What's the difference in these four?. I assume if I want to use vibrato that I need to use one of the two vibrato jacks. Is reverb supposed to work with all four, or do I need to be plugged in to one of the Vibrato jacks? I've never let another guitarist plug into the amp with me. Was the idea of 4 jacks to allow 4 guitar players to share the same amp?
__
The reverb not working may be a mechanical issue. I bought this amp used in 1978 and it didn't come with a foot switch so I can't confirm that the reverb even worked with I purchased it (for the $50 I paid for it, I wasn't that concerned at the time). Before I haul the amp to the local music shop to look for the issue, is there anything I can check out myself? On the back of the amp is a REVERB OUTPUT and a REVERB INPUT. Both cables are plugged in and feeding to a long, black case mounted on the floor of the amp. I assume this is the reverb unit. I also don't know if any of the tubes are involved in reverb. Any advice on what I can do to possibly troubleshoot the problem myself would be appreciated.

I might add that all these years I've been using external boxes for my effects. I can continue to do so, but I'm at the point now where I'd love to fix this so I can hear what
the true vintage sound is like. I suspect once I do I'll be kicking myself for not doing this years ago.

Reverb only works on vibrato channel. Reverb does not require the use of a switch to work.

Make sure reverb cables are good, also make sure they are connected to correct slot.

There are tubes involved with the reverb circuit. Try swapping them out to see if tubes are the problem. You'll need to download the schematic to see what tubes are involved.

Reverb tank itself might be bad. Try different tank if you can.

If you do not have the tools or knowledge to perform any of these suggestions, you might want to consider taking it to a qualified tech.

Hope this helps and good luck.

It might be time to bite the bullet and take this to an amp tech.

As for the amp inputs, since there are two separate channels (Normal and Vibrato) and you would need to plug into one of the two inputs to access that channel. IIRC the two inputs have separate levels of gain to them. I think input one on both channels has the higher gain. I can't speak to whether the intent was to have two or more people play through one amp at a time, but I am sure back in the day. It may be a left over type thing to continue doing it.
