I purchased my 1973 vibrolux reverb amp several years ago; never had the foot switches and would now like to purchase them. The rear panel has two RCA jacks- one for vibrato and one for reverb. I see that replacement foot switches come in both 1 and 2 button configurations.
Can anyone tell me which brand/model switch(s) works best with this amp? I've read some online reviews where "popping" is a common complaint on some of the replacement switches (but not necessarily just Fender's) I'd rather pay a little more and get a good quality unit that will stand up for a while. Another thing I heard in reviews- some models tend not to lay solidly flat on the floor. Any suggestions in that area?
Thanks :)

Stratele, I think that he needs one of these footswitches. With two RCA connectors:

Boy! Has the 1960-70's made ones really gone up in price!

I'm sure you could DIY one outta heavier gauge material for $25-50. One that could take a daily pounding. Something like the photos, with better RCA connectors, of course!

Thanks for the advice. I looked at the post on making your own heavier duty unit, but I'm not experienced enough to do that. Putting batteries in a flashlight is about my complete knowledge of electronics. I saw an add on VoodooMan foot switches, but also saw some very negative reviews on their customer service/delivery. Not so much negative on the product itself. These reviews were a few years old. Does anyone have a current update on VoodooMan? If they sold their business to another company, I wonder if their current model is as good as the original?

The reviews on Fender foot switches are so-so, but at $60 I wonder if I'd be better off to spend more on a more durable unit. What's really confusing- some newer Fender amps and classic re-issues also have on-off vibrator/reverb, so you'd think those foot switches would work on my 1973 amp, but that's not necessarily so. I have some 1/4" to RCA adapters, so I'm even wondering if I find a heavier duty 1/4" model if that would work if I use the adapter?

You prolly could make an adapter to go from a 1/4-inch plug to RCA type. Use quality parts. There are a lot of cheap RCA plugs out there.
