Who knows what he is up to. I decided against that amp, and whatever the price is, I ain't buyin it. I am sitting pat for now, the money from the Petillo guitar that I just recently sold is resting in my bank, till I get an urge to do something with it. It is reserved for a new gear day, no hurry.........

Yeah, $600 sounds right in this situation, plus the fact that it is still listed.

This is the best thread ever...and the reason we all love this forum :D

If you did not feel comfortable, I don't blame you for passing this one up. However, the original Super Champ is the ultimate porch weasel -- like a Princeton Reverb on steroids. Perhaps you'll find another......

The guy seemed legit, it is just that I changed my mind. I have a friend who has one, a really good guitarist, and he loves his, that is why I considered it, but after researching what the SC does I thought nah I want something more modern. With eq on each channel. But I am standing pat for now. No hurry......

......And built with crap components, iron, speakers, and reverb tank made God-knows-where, all wired up with RoHS solder, and wrapped in a cardboard cabinet covered in bio-degradable Tolex and glow-in-the-dark grill cloth.

That's what "modern" represents to me.

Everyone to their own taste amigo. I have had many of the PTP wired classic Fenders, 4 Mesa Boogies, 3 or 4 Music Man, and a half dozen Peavey amps, as well as an original Marhsall Plexi 100 watt Super Lead amp all of them nice amps, all well built all of them sold long ago, because they did not meet my tonal taste truthfully.

I bought a cheapo Hot Rod Deluxe 8 or 9 years ago and I found my so called crappily built HRD to be my very favorite sounding amp ever. The reviews say the Rivera amps are well built, and my friends at Eurotubes think they are some of the better made modern amps. Those guys work on amps every single day, they know what they are talking about, and have never steered me in the wrong direction even if it meant there was no sale from their advice at the moment. That is why I do all of my tube business with them. over and over again they have proven their integrity with me. If I do buy a new amp it will be a Rivera Clubster on my short list and at the top of my short list. But for now I don't need any amp as I have 4 of them. I just set aside my proceeds from the guitar sale for New Gear Day use. if and when I decide to pull the trigger on any gear.

No offense meant amigo, we just all have different preferences that's all.
