First post here...
Been playing Fender amps for a long time.
Here is a 1960 Fender Concert Amp with the 'Center Volume' control configuration. All original except a few capacitors, tubes, added power tube holders, power cable and the speakers were changed out, it appear it's all original aside from that (from what I can tell). I hope I can find a nice quad of P10Qs from 1960 someday... Maybe a quad of Webers?
Here are a few pics...

The tube chart is stamped "JD" and Production #4. Transformers are original Triad 45249 OT (same as tweed Bassman); 67233 PT; and 125C1A, 606-950. Has all it's yellow Astron signal caps (even one red "firecracker" Astron!) and all the Electrolytics are changed out and someone replaced the 'death cap' (which will be going).

Nice amp. What did you call a "center volume control " ? A master volume ?

refers to the knobs being labeled and ordered as BASS-TREBLE-VOLUME instead of VOLUME-TREBLE-BASS.

Very nice!

If you're looking for a great 10" speaker, I'd seriously consider the Kendrick Black Frames. I just dropped one in my Princeton Reverb and it's jaw dropping.

A nice vinty piece for sure.

Did you install that single ivory cupcake knob merely as a convenience to quickly ID the volume control, perhaps on a dimly-lit stage?

Likely the original speakers were ceramic Oxford 10K5's with the plastic "salsa buckets" over the magnets but I'm with you on preferring a tasty quartet of vintage P10Q's or C10Q's.

Rawk on!

And welcome to the forum.

+1 on the Kendricks IF you can't find a nice quad of vintage Jensens!

Pretty fine looking amp!

Great looking amp! I didn't realize the brownface Concert had solid-state rectification. Similar to the brownie Pro.

Hello All- thanks for the kind words!
This Concert Amp originally had a quad of P10Qs that the Original Owner swapped into his '57 Bassman. My 1960 Fender Center Volume Bandmaster still has it's original 3 Jensen P10Rs(dated from late '59). The 1st Owner also took a knob off a 60's Bassman so he could easily tell where the Volume was. I've got a spare brown knob around here somewhere... This is the first version Concert and doesn't have a "knock out", as later models did for the rectifier tube, since Concert/Bandmaster/Pro/Super amps all share the same chassis. I guess they must have cut that rectifier hole at the factory for the Super Amps...?
My 1960 Bandmaster & Concert both share the same circuit, only difference I can see, is the Output Transformer and cabinet configuration...oh, and faceplate.

The 6G11 Vibrolux also used a GZ34 as a rectifier.

I believe the chassis for the brownface Bandmaster and Concert was shared with the 6G5 Pro Amp as well.

Yes, the Concert, Bandmaster, Pro and Super all share the same chassis. That is why the serial numbers all croos reference. So ~2400 total chassis numbers for Bandmaster, Concert, Super and Pro amps- split that four ways and there were ~700 each made in 1960. More Concerts and Supers than Pros and Bandmasters made in 1960 though. I have heard guesstimates of ~1000 Concerts; ~800-1000 Supers; 200-250 each of Pros and Bandmasters.

+1

The 3 x 10 6G7 Bandmaster was a pretty rare model and discontinued at the end of the 1960 model year (replaced by the piggyback variant). I'd be surprised if production totaled more than 200 units in its combo guise.

Your choke is dated the 50th week of 1959 so that's not altogether surprising. A similar Concert Amp with a 5G12 tube chart is illustrated in Wheeler's "The Soul Of Tone".
