Looking to spend under $160 for 2 6L6. I can get recos from Mike K at KCA NOS Tubes, but wondering if folks have had luck with any of the newer non-NOS stuff.

Thanks!

A matched pair of Electro-Harmonix 6L6EH's will work fine. Winged C's would also be an option worthy of consideration.

+1 on the EH, they are hard to beat as far as modern tubes.

Last week a matched pair of JJ 6L6's from Eurotubes set me back a whole $38.00 plus shipping. Last year I retubed a Custom Vibrolux Reverb with Eurotubes' JJ-brand tubes and they are great. As soon as I get this latest order of 6L6's, I'm going to put 'em in my Deluxe Reverb Reissue to replace stock 6V6's.

I just put a set of TAD 6L6WGC-STRs in my 66 Bassman and WOW! Nice tone, similar to the old GE bottles and they can take a pretty good beating.
