This pic was the last time they were all in the same room:

Image

Left to right, top/bottom:

Crate '90's BX200 atop Ampeg '70s (?) SVT 8x10 cab, '70's Woodson 250 head and matching 1x15" cab, Peavey PA 2x10 cab atop Cordovox '60's 2x12 cab, Fender Super Champ XD atop MosValve 80W power amp in cab w/12" EV speaker, pre-'69 Sunn 200S 60W head atop DIY 2x12 w/Celestion silverbacks, 1966 Fender Super Reverb (cut into a 2x10 combo and 2x10 extension cab) with Sunn Magna 108 speakers, '69 Kustom 100 head and matching 1x15 cab w/J.B. Lansing speaker, '90's Sovtek MiG50H Tube Midget 50W head atop late '70's/early '80's Risson 4x12 cab.

I still have all this stuff except the Cordovox. A few additional ones not pictured: Vox AD30VT-XL 1x10 combo, nonbranded cigarbox amp (runs off 9-volt) head, Kustom Tube 12A (hybrid) w/8" Celestion combo, '90's Laney TF 100 50-watt solid state 1x10 combo.

A motley crew. I think that's all, except for PA stuff.

your all fender guys, while i like to mix it up.
#1. 1996 matchless chieftain 410(this one i'm most proud of, its like the bassman of matchless's, 1 of 25 ever built, verified in email by Phil Jameson)
#2. 2003 vox ac30 cc2x (bluebacks).
#3. 1970 fender twin reverb
#4. 1965 fender showman piggy-back oversize 215 cab(monster)
#5. 1965 fender super reverb
#6. 1960 fender concert (59cab w/ 6g12a chassis) JUST GOT FOR X-MAS, today:D!
#7. 1959 fender bassman(soon to be ordered in the next 2 months, before 2/15)

i have a few other amps that are my own builds or practice amps, but other than my own builds, they aren't class A or point to point. not worth the mention.

all my fender amps are vintage and road worn!

2009 Fender Frontman 25R.

wow, it's awesome to still hear about original owners, specifically since those are some tasty old fenders there!. i have bought one vintage guitar off an original owner's son, they have the best vibe, tone, and soul!

Though I never could part with these two old amps, I regret having sold my original strat, purchased in 63', and sold five years later. As far as vintage guitars, I still have a 68' Coronado, but can't say it has the "best of". I like the strats I have now....won't be selling them off...

Man do I feel like the new freshmen kid who doesn't want to walk in the showers with the seniors. :o

All I have to show is my 65 Pro Reverb, brought back to life with the help of some good people in here.

Here's a recent addition to the stuff pictured in the post a few up above. An old solid state Marshall Lead 20 1x10. I actually like the distortion sound on it better than that of the later AVT hybrid series.

I already had the Tele. ;)

No need for feelings of inadequacy with that! We do seem to have a dearth of Pro Reverbs here on the forum...always nice to see one especially a nice one like yours!

Amen. Although I'm sure there's some folks who have a lot of amps, or especially expensive/vintage ones, who might consider the whole thing some sort of warped competition, hopefully most don't. There will always be someone else with more, or nicer, so there's no point in the whole "conspicuous consumption" mindset.

I love my amps, and seeing all the cool stuff everyone else has too!

Happy Christmas everyone.

MikeB...quite an impressive list. You gotta post some pics! Your collection has a decidedly Gibson bent to it...would be great to see some of those!

not all of them, including our aforementioned bassman amps are yet in the blog but check out what is there. see the signature below for the wordpress website.

as far as the gibson amps, i happened to get them from from a former fender cabinet maker, ironically enough. they are much harder to work on due to their inconsistencies in parts and schematics as well as someone had "mickey moused" some of them just to get them to work. i didn't know any better then and now i'm learning to restore/repair them myself since i can't afford to have it done.
thanks,

Nice site. Some nice older Gibson amps. I used to live not far from Gibson's factory in Kalamazoo and you are right about them. They always seemed to break down, and with the exception of a couple of models they only seemed to sound good with a Gibson guitar...and only for playing jazz! Some of them, GA9, Stereo 79's, Minutemans/Explorers had good tone. These models were more reliable and useable with other manufacturers guitars. Nice collection you got there.
