Hello Im new to this forum. Im accustomed to Vintage marshall amps which I have been playing for years ,recently about 6 months ago I aquired a stock 1965 Fender Pro Reverb
The speakers were also dated 1965 .They are "Oxfords 12T6" Speakers. I have read that they are much better sounding then the"Oxford 12L6? Ive read it is more commen for theBlackface Pro reverbs to be equipped with Oxford 12L6 Speakers and not theOxford12T6 Speakers.Apparently The Oxford 12T6 Speakers are usually found in the Blackface TwinReverb amps? Anyway I have a vintage1967 Jensen C12n stored .Do you think that one Jensen and oxford together would be an improvement ? In the future I will get another Vintage JensenC12 n,I remember years ago owning a Fender amp with Jensen C12N speakers and I remember that amp sounding really nice ! Anyway what are your thoughts of the Oxford12T6 as a pair in a1965 Pro reverb ? And your thoughts about removing one Oxford 12T6and Pairing the otherOxford 12T6with a 1967 Jensen c12n in the1965 Pro reverb? Thanks again for your help Cheers!

Your assumptions re the Oxford 12T6 are correct -- that speaker was standard fare for a Twin Reverb or Bassman of the era. The more common driver for a '65 Pro Reverb would be the 12L6 or a Utah equivalent. Rarely, the Pro Reverb would be shipped with the Jensen C12NA as with this Fender-marked example......

Jensen's were discontinued as OEM speakers in any Fender amp after the spring of 1967 when Fender dropped them as a supplier.

IMO the C12NA was the best non-JBL speaker ever installed in the Pro Reverb and mating it or a garden-variety C12N with an Oxford 12T6 is bound to improve your amp's tone. The "N" coil/cone assembly is rated at forty watts (identical to the Oxford's "T") so power-handling capability will not be a factor for concern. The Jensen is marginally more efficient than the Oxford and thus may be a skosh louder.
