Could someone look at this and see if it is indeed a 1962 Deluxe Reverb. Hopefully the images work. I'm copying the image URL from pinterest between the image tag here at the forum.

After looking at the transformers I think that I have a 1962 Fender BlackFace Deluxe Reverb 1 X 12 Combo.

One transformer has EIA606 - 206 and another has EIA606 - 208

In either case my understanding is that the first number of the last 3 digits is the year so the 2 would be 1962.

I don't know much at all but besides the original grill cloth being changed out and Fender decal that would have been on it possibly missing It's in super good condition if it's indeed a 1962 in my opinion. The letters and numbers are very clean looking.

Sorry, but what you have there is a 82ish Fender Deluxe Reverb. Right around this time Fender went back to Blackface Cosmetics for their amps, but didn't quite get the font on the front panels right. The font is smaller and it lacks the all important "-Amp". Compare your amp panel front to the one in this site. All should be clear afterwards.

Additionally, a Blackface 62 Deluxe amp did not exist, it would have been a brownface amp. Still a nice example of the later year breeds.

Glad to help out. This is why the Forum exists!

How does the amp sound? Pull boost volume control is a dead give-away. Not seen in BF era amps.

The three-prong accessory outlet, in the back, is another give-away. I haven't seen any stock BF Fenders with this type of outlet. I've seen them in 1970's era SF amps.

The circuit of the volume boost Deluxe Reverb is really not that far from its BF or SF roots. May not be too difficult to revert the amp back to AB763.

IMHO, that grille has to go. Stock BF era pattern would be much better.

+1

The power tranny does not appear to be original or even a genuine Fender replacement.

One other thing. The rectifier is not the correct model. It appears to be a coke-bottle 5U4G. Should be a straight-side bottle 5U4GB. You run a risk of arc-over, with the lower current output 5U4G.

Just an FYI...

I agree. Pretty big PT. Maybe the export tranny? Be nice to see the circuit side of the amp. The octal sockets look like perhaps miconal Belton or Amphenol variety.

That's whistling past the graveyard IMO.

No. It's not a Fender P/N of any kind.

I'm probably not a very good measure of how any amp sounds but it sounds great to me.

Thanks for all the info on the amp.

I'll have to see if there's any other Fender items other than what I've already posted I can find in the basement.

If you ignore the pull-boost volume control feature, you'll find that the amp behaves pretty much like any other Deluxe Reverb. I have a '78 model and it sounds quite similar to my '68. The Weber 12F150 should provide some pretty realistic Fender tone.

But shuck that gawd-awful Vox cloth......that's absolute sacrilege!

Arjay

Update: Your power tranny IS the correct iron for a late-production Deluxe Reverb -- I just checked the P/N stamped on my '78 and they do in fact match.
