Did the '65 Bandmaster speaker cabinet have chrome glides on the underside? Mine has none, but it seems like it "should". Any advantages? I rarely move it around. What about rubber feet? Thanks.

If you talk about sphinx glide . All Fender have them , I never see a vintage fender amp or cab sitting on tolex.

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessor ... inx-glides

Advantage ; save bottom , easy to glide cab or amp . Keep this amp original with Fender glide

+1

Four glides for a Bandmaster/Bassman/Tremolux cab, six on a Showman.

For 1965 the glides would be attached separate from the steel corner protectors. Subsequent to mid 1966 they would be anchored using the bottom screw on each corner protector. Fender no longer sells the vintage style glides -- only the contemporary types which resemble a stainless-steel bagel in size. Vintage repro's are available on Ebay, usually about twelve bucks for a set of four (including mounting screws). I think Ernie Ball used to offer these as well for about the same price.

Thanks. I appreciate the info. I didn't think it was right without the glides. I'll keep my eye out for some vintage style.

And no, I have no affiliation whatsoever with this vendor -- posted for informational purposes only.

Arjay,
The product on eBay looks exactly the same as the parts on the Fender site under Pure Vintage Sphinx Glides. If so, I can pick them up locally. Am I missing something?

Reread my initial response to this thread.

Every word.

Very carefully.

Super.

And be advised if you need vintage-spec corners, Fender no longer sells those either. However, the Ernie Ball replacements are a drop-on fit to any Fender cabinet. They run ten to twelve bucks for a set of four on the bay (mounting screws included).
