I am new to this. I have a 1967 Fender Twin Reverb Amp. Original except for one pot replaced, the pilot light has been replaced and I just put in 2 new Jensen 50 watt speakers.
My Dad bought this from my drum teacher back about 1971 or 72 and I've had it every since. We actually used it as a PA system in this little lounge band I was in when I was a kid. Then I let other guitar players use it in different bands. But it has just sat for over 25 years. Had it bench tested and it sounds and looks great. My question is where would you look to sell this vintage amp? I've started with Craigslist locally but I'm really not in an area where this amp and its great sound would be truly appreciated. I'm concerned about ebay because of the shipping hassles. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

If you don't have original speakers , it may lost value 1/3 to 1/2

I'm not certain I agree with that, Stratele. At least some depreciation for sure -- say, ten percent. But most Fender TR's from that era left Fullerton with the Oxford 12T6......not exactly the pinnacle of sonic reproduction. Many of these amps were upgraded soon after sale with JBL's, Altec's, Jensen Vibranto's, and the like. OTOH, the choice of imported re-issue "Jensini" speakers (and mere 50-watters at that) as replacements certainly wouldn't be the option I'd pursue.

JMOOC (which seems to count for jackshit around here)

I may be wrong , but a have a old friend who is a serious collector since 40 years and that is I learn with him .

For a player the amp may worth more money , for a collector original speaker is half of the amp

For certain Fender eras, this is certainly true. Collectors and players alike will all agree that for a tweed 5E3 Deluxe, the OEM Jensen P12Q is the preferred speaker. The same can be said for a brownface 6G16 Vibroverb and its original Oxford 10K5's or a blackface Super Reverb and its quartet of CTS alnico tens. To be brutally frank, there aren't too many collectors interested in a Twin Reverb -- of any era. Ergo, the most likely buyer is a player who needs 85 watts of smooth, vintage, Fender cleans. And the lion's share of them would probably not be happy with the marginal performance of original Oxford's or the equally-dismal Utah's, both of which were used during the amp's numerous production runs. The best sounding non-JBL speaker Fender ever installed in the blackface Twin Reverb was Jensen's C12NA but the production window for that specific driver was very small since Fender discontinued using Jensen in 1967 over a pricing dispute.
