I ended up going with the Kendrick Blackframe 10, and it arrived on the 3rd. Had it swapped in on Saturday, and OMG this speaker sounds great! Clean and full at lower volumes, and then sweet crunch without farting out at 6 and up. Definitely a massive improvement over the Italian Jensen and glad I had some downtime to do the swap.

Another convert...Kendricks are great speakers, just a bit expensive but worth every penny.

When I replaced the speaker in my '64 Princeton I went with a CTS Alnico because someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse!

Enjoy the breakin!

definitely already enjoying the break-in period; will use at practice this week 2x at healthy volumes...

In my 1965 PR, I put a Weber made P10N-50. Installed in 1991, when Ted labeled his vintage speakers with Jensen nomenclature. Prolly close to today's Weber 10A150T. It is the best 10-inch I have in any of my amps. And I have CTS in my SR and VLR.

I do have a matched quad of 1959 Jensen P10Q, looking for a tweed Bassman home. :D

I have NEVER seen a '65 Princeton Reverb with a footswitch jack for a BOOST PEDAL.

Sorry, wrong photo. This is a 1980s' PR that I put in an old Weber speaker.

Here's the photo of the 1966 (not 1965). Sorry, for the confusion.

I might have to try a Kendrick speaker one of these days... I just can't imagine something sounding better than that special Jensen in my PR. Anyone compare the two?

Cedar, I don't have one to do a side by side but if you ever get the chance to try one out, take it! You will not be disappointed I promise.

+1

Kendrick builds a premium speaker, much like Tone Tubby. Once the cone and suspension has logged forty or fifty hours of break-in time, it will assume a sonic character not unlike a vintage Jensen.
