Need to repair a small 1/2 tear In a fender gold label speaker located about an inch away from the surround, and torn in the direction of the voice coil.
Since its going in a Twin, will have to be strong.

I use small piece of bathroom sheet paper with silicone caulking ( like the one use for sealing bath )
Gently moist Bathroom paper with silicon , apply to the speaker cone

Elmer's white glue, the kind kids use in school and a single ply of Kleenex. Mix the glue with water, 3 parts glue, 1 part water (Just make sure it's thin enough so it soaks in to the paper) and apply to one side of the cone with a very small artist's brush being careful not to over saturate. Cut a piece of Kleenex to size and put over glue, gently smoothing to form to the speaker with the brush. Very important to not over saturate. Allow to dry and repeat 3 or 4 times. Do the same to the other side. Time consuming but works well.

I got this info from Weber and used it on a '66 Jensen C12NA that had a 2" tear in the cone and have never had an issue with the repair.
