Hey all. New member looking for guidance. I am told this is a '67 Super Silverface Drip edge. I have been told it all date codes to 67' and been assured it is an AB763 circuit. I honestly have no way of verifying it and have looked at so many pics of AB763 and AB568 online I have gone blurry from so many inconsistencies in what I seen and read.

It does not have the black lines on the face plate but the tube chart shows AB763. The Chassis has a stamp of T354168 on it. Here are a couple of pics,\ but I cannot tell from these. Can someone verify this?

Your amp was built in the 41st week of 1968 -- it was originally wired as an AB568 circuit but it appears that a previous owner had it back-dated to the AB763 revision. The idle-bias pot seems to have been reconfigured to the conventional system and the snubber caps have been removed from the power-tube sockets.

Arjay, your a god-send. Thank you. I suppose that is why it was so hard to figure out. Many many thanks and have a great week!

Using a tube chart to ascertain a Fender amp's true pedigree is futile. FMI continued to use the early charts (AB165, AA964, AB763, etc) well after those circuits were superceded with later revisions. And the drip-edge silverface's are the most enigmatic amps when trying to determine the specifics.

Arjay, How were you able to figure this out, from the OP? Pretty darn good! Were there any drip-edge 1967 model SR?

Thanks!

The OP had originally posted some chassis pics which have now apparently been excised. The ink-stamped build date was both visible and legible.

Can't pinpoint an exact date when silverface Super Reverbs first appeared but the new '67 I bought in August of that year wore the updated cosmetics. It was built in early July.
