I have six old Fender amps, bought cheap and rebuilt. All of them have solder blobs under the eyelets between the fiberboards. I always use a solder sucker when replacing components, but it's hard to get all the old solder out. When I change bias or filter cap components, I remove the board and clean the eyelets. The big board is another story. Does any one have experience removing solder from under the main board?

Yeah. I use a Hakko 808 desoldering gun. If you work on a lot of circuits, esp circuit boards, these thing are worth their price tag. IMHO.

interesting this gun , I don't have any desoldering pump gun . Only soldapullt DS107 and some other . Hakko gun look great.

But after I read this post just under the video . I'm not sure I would by a desoldering gun and at close to $200 this gun must be flawless
But this user did not talk about this gun Hakko808

Maxim recoil;
The only truly professional desoldering tool in this video is the Edsyn Soldapullt DS017LS. These are widely used industrially, such as by line-workers in PCB factories. At the PCB factory I worked at, most of us chose to use the Soldapullt in preference to the Metcal desolder stations connected to shop-air which were also available. A typical job for the Soldapullt was to desolder 400 solder joints in a row. Since the Soldapullt is self-cleaning, you could do it non-stop. All of the powered desoldering guns get clogged and need to be manually cleaned.

The Hakko looks great. How does it handle large amounts of solder on old amps?
