Great looking amps! I really enjoy threads like this that show vintage gear restored to original.

Awesome job Arjay, you make me miss mine even more. I should just bite the bullet, pay the piper and get another one. My 66 Vibrolux Reverb was my FAVORITE amp of all time. It was just the right combination of power, tone and portability. Two tens are so tight and focused.
Good luck with it!!

Thanks, Supro!

Those vinty OEM Jensen's just sound so......damn......sweet......!

Tasty and creamy, like your grandma's best roast-beef gravy.

The "secret" got out when Teagle & Sprung made mention of the Vibrolux Reverb in their book, opining that it was the best amp that Leo had ever designed. Since then, asking prices have skyrocketed into the ionosphere. I just happened to luck into this one for a relative steal.

Damn fine job Arjay! Looks like you saved and restored another one of Fenders great amps! That cloth looks pretty close to the original to boot!

Enjoy your newest family member.

Absolutely, T2.

I may have some studio work coming up in July and I plan on using it then for sure.

I like the VLR tone a lot. Much different than the bigger dual 6L6GC Fender amps. The VLR and Tremolux has a more 6V6GT-like early OD and harmonic character. And those two 10-inch speakers fit the amp's response perfectly.

I think the "smallish" iron and the GZ34 recto play a significant role in that observation. The VLR's P/S is near identical to that of a DR.
