Did the early tweed pro use a Jensen P15N?

Im asking because my Victoria amp has a 15" speaker. Its a stock eminence 1518 legend. Its has to go. My amp is a regal and not their pro version. The amps tone stack is based on the tweed bassman. So I can get some tweed like tones for the amp.

I know it will not nail the tweed pro tone. But I like my amp. Im on the fence if I want to try a different 15" speaker or get a cabinet with a different size speaker. 2x12,2x10,and 4x10.

I never had an amp with a 15" speaker before. Im trying not to base my feelings about a 15" speaker on the eminence. But im concerned about dropping money on an alnico speaker to find out if I like 15" speakers. I ask because I don't have any place near me to even check out those type speakers.

Also I don't like to base anything I hear from an online sound clip. Sorry about the long ramble. I thought I would throw out the question.

The guitar I will be using is a korina les paul jr type with a p-90.

Yes.

The early tweed Pro Amp's were equipped with the P15N Jensen. It was replaced by the C15N in 1960 when the brownface 6G5 Pro was released.

Vintage editions of this alnico speaker remain available on the secondary market albeit not so prolifically as in the past. You may have better luck finding a Chicago-made ceramic C15N -- still sonically satisfying but a bit brighter and "shinier" than the P-series driver. Weber's Chicago Series 15A150 with light doping might also be an appropriate speaker for the tone you seek.
