Urged by FMs from the other topic, I'm giving my amp a new thread.

It's a late 1968 Bassman Export Amplifier, bought from a friend of mine. I bought this amp without the cabinet, only a chassis without the associated tubes. The nice folks here have diagnosed it to be a AB165 circuit. I live in Europe, hence the Export name that fits the needs of our market and electricity.

I will try and post some pictures for you to comment if you feel like it.

As it is obvious, the front panel is a plexi panel.

Nice job on the cabinet head. Looks like it is ready for a Cap job and a new three prong cord? What are your plans?

Oh, no. I live in Europe. We have different cables than in US.

I'm not gonna touch it inside for now, will hear how it behaves while playing loud and with other band members. We'll see.

I go often in Europe.
It is a three prong plug , the ground plug ( pin ) is on the wall outlet and plug in the hole we see in your AC cable

Sorry, I wasn't specific enough. We have this combination in Croatia.

I can use the first linked cable in the picture as well, because it's a combination of E and F plug type. It's a CEE 7/7 plug. (combines earthing methods of Type E & Type F)

Very nice job! :D

I'd serious think about changing those caps under the doghouse & in the bias supply. Most Mallory paper caps I've seen either leak or are dried out. Or both. This could effect no only the background hum and hiss, but also the life of those 5881. Primo bias on 5881, for push-pull Class AB1, is around 15-16 watts per tube (65% of 23 watts max recommended).

I knew a girl from Croatia, many moons ago in college. But, I digress...
