Finally! I basically went through the whole thing, lifting and checking caps, diodes and resistors. There were many resistors that were way off and a two bad coupling caps. Sounds good biased at 46 at about 19.6 watts, JJ 6L6GC's, but that might be a little high. I have to say, the new LDR affects this amp a little differently than the original, to my ears anyway. It really does need a speaker upgrade. These originals fart out pretty easy and the surrounds are both completely loose from the frames. C-Rex maybe? Any suggestions?

Thanks again for all the input during this, it was a big help.

Were the amp mine, I'd have those vintage C12N's re-coned.

But that's just me.

Glad to learn the amp is now reassembled and functioning correctly.

I think you're right. I've heard good reports about the Circuit Shop. Maybe they could use the same cones and replace the rest of the parts. The cones themselves are in great shape.

The cone and coil is an integral assembly -- both will be replaced simultaneously in the event of a re-cone. For a vintage tone, specify a seamed-and-ribbed cone with a 50-watt voice coil. Light surround doping may be used to extend the life of the pleat but do not overdo it lest the cone's natural resonance be over-dampened. Ninety bucks is a fair price for a quality rebuild (per speaker).

I'd suggest WGS ET65. I have them in my 1990 TR RI (and '65 Pro Reverb).

Excellent speakers, and great value for $$.

Did I mention they sound awesome?!?

And they are only $41 a piece, and sound awesome, especially when pushed.
