I can find hot air on my job sites all day long….. patience and common sense. That's another story.

There is no need for me to blow smoke up your skirt, but damn you do nice work. Same with Beemer.

I've got the patience of a two bit whoore on a Saturday night....

Nice work Arjay!

Thanks, Mark!

One of my saloon sidekicks is already nagging me to sell it to him. If/when his offer tops three large I'll likely accept.

I've seen a few of those around, Art. When I spot another I'll e-mail you the link.

Actually I think your '69 Bassman will look better because it doesn't have any of these in it......

I'd venture a wild stab & say that amp needs a cap job? Maybe?

My guess is that the second cap in the first filter stage was attached in the wrong polarity.

Oh it's well beyond that, Art. More like a candidate for Superfund cleanup!

Send in the EPA guys with their hazmat gear and moon suits.

I had a PR come in once with a blown-up cap can. A tech soldered one hot lead to ground. The owner said when he turned the amp on, the explosion was so loud that it set-off car alarms, parked on his street.

And the tech claimed he checked the bias, after changing the cap can.

It looked the same as your photo, like a chemical hand grenade went off. But, much more damage to the circuit. The explosion actually tweaked the chassis. That "doghouse" cover saved that amp from more damage.

Another clear-cut example of a McFlipper turned amp-tech.

Are there any questions dealing with electronics on a GED exam?
