Just a follow up...I got the Bassman head back from my tech and have a fresh set of F&T caps and the TAD 6L6GB-STR's...can't say enough good things about these TAD's!

It sounded very good with the Sov Teks, but these TAD's are something else, nice bass thump, the mids have some nice swirl to em, and the highs are clean without any spikiness! If you are needing a set of new tubes to try, I would recommend these. The quack and attack from this amp now is just awesome!

Now I either got to get a A/B switch to run this and the BFSR or maybe I need to finally track down a '63 Reverb Unit to go with this Bassman...and I thought that a Deluxe Reverb was my last need!

I'll keep my eye peeled for a bargain-priced 6G15, Tony.

Thanks! I had a line on one here locally, but somebody beat me to it!

I think you meant TAD 6L6GC-STR, no? I used them in my SR and loved 'em!

Yes...nothing like catching my typo! I have one set of RCA 6L6's left, but I am digging these so much I might save those and go with the TAD's in the BFSR...especially if you're really happy with em in your Super Reverb. Thanks Cedar!

My SR has the only pair of RCA 6L6 I have, and they're never coming out :) but for a while I used the TADs, until I let a friend borrow them, never to be seen again... I'd like to get another pair so I can try them in my VLR.

I also really liked their 6V6GT-STR in my DR, closest in tone to the RCAs.

Cedar when I finally track down a Deluxe, I am going to get a set of those TAD 6V6s for it. I remember you saying that before about your DR, that is why I thought I would try the TAD 6L6's in the BFBM based on your recommendation of the 6V6's.

I probably save those RCA's for the Super.
