Not a reissue. It was at a local Guitar Center in Tempe, AZ.

It did very well on my "quite test". That's where I turn the guitar volume down but peg all the controls on the amp - except the vibrato. That old amp was amazingly quite. When backing off the tone control I had to lean down to here any hiss.

It was way to muddy when cranked. A PR will not usually be as tight sounding as a DR but this was the worst sounding cranked PR I've ever played. The volume was around 7 and it did not seem as loud as I expected. Some experts here might know the cause and cure for that. Crappy speaker maybe?

The vibrato oscillated to fast with the speed control set on 1. I didn't time it so I can't give an actual frequency but it was definitely not as slow as other Fender amps I've played. The depth control was fine.

The price was $999. Not sure what year it is - there was no push-pull control if that's a clue.

I recently got a SF Champ and it wasn't very loud. I put a different 12AX7 tube in it (the only spare tube I had that would work in the champ) and it got a lot louder. So maybe it just needs some new tubes.

BTW howdy neighbor, I'm out in Surprise.

Tired tubes and a lackluster speaker are the likely causes of excessive muddiness. Prolly could stand a new cap can and power-rail resistors as well.
