Are we talking about your 1967 (nee: 1973) Pro Reverb or the one in the EBay ad? The Ebay one appears to be as advertised, a 1970 Pro Reverb.

Arjay already stated that the number under the power lamp has nothing to do with the year of manufacture. This is an internal factory code.

So they all weren't SF by 1970?

OK... sorry. Pro Reverb with an aftermarket blackface front panel.

The only way to know for sure about a Fender amp's origin is to find the manufacturer's date stamping on the transformers and chokes. Date/manufacturer stamps on the speakers. Stamps on pots. And the general layout of the amp's circuitry.

Mallory and original Sprague caps often had date stamping, too.

Like this photo. Where the output tranny has the 606-1-09. 606 = Schumacher manufacturer. 1 = 1971. 09 = 9th week.

Or this 465-330. 465 = Oxford manufacturer. 3 = 1973. 30 = 30th week.

The amp could have been swapped into an older cabinet.

Sad. No photos of the circuitry. :(

Well, here's some photos of the circuitry in my SF VLR. Prolly close to the Pro Reverb.
