I have a Blackface Princeton amp 6G2A with 10LG on production date, July, 1962?. Mine is black, but looks like it's brown Tolex undernmeath. Could fender have painted the Tolex prior to assembly as there is no evidence of a later paint job? also has blue label Fender musical Inst. speaker.

Fender doesn't "paint" Tolex (in point of fact, the covering used on blonde and brown amps is known as "Nubtex" and has a much coarser texture). Likely some budding Henrí Matisse had his way with the amp at some point in its history. The blue-labeled Fender speaker is not original either.

jimmyjag, Welcome! :D

Any photos of this amp? Some circuit shots would help to narrow down the exact circuit model.

Thanks!

A friend of mine bought a blonde Basmman ( what a beautifull sound ) and it was paint all white .

My friend use paint remover and now the amp is like original , 8/10

Blonde & brownface era amps prolly sound so good, in part, due to the meticulous soldering and layout. IMHO.

Likewise, the US-made milspec components share that responsibility.
