With all knobs and switches off (except power) and nothing plugged in, my Acoustisonic Jr. hums so loud it sounds like a jet or hair dryer. The only thing that stops this is plugging a cord into the stereo return jack which I assume disables the front inputs. I have not opened the amp up yet until I know what to look for. I have 2 of these amps, the other works great. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to spend too much money on repairs because there are used ones all over for around $150.00

Wrong forum it is not a vintage amp IMO .

By the way ,It may have some DC voltage send directly to the speaker that's the "jet "sound
It is a solid state amp .
Nothing you can fix by yourself .
Do you have a voltmeter to read DC or AC at speaker ?

Sorry if I posted in the wrong forum, thought I saw some other posts regarding Acoustisonic jrs in here. Yes I have a volt meter. Where would DC voltage be coming from with nothing plugged into the amp?

Thanks for the quick response.

DC volts is coming from inside the amp , throug a defective solid state device.
Could be a defective Filter caps or broken printed circuit .
Can you open the amp and see printed circuit ?

No need guitar plug to the amp
