Thanks for the insight.

Sorry to hijack the thread - but I have learned so much from the people on this forum.

Thanks!,

So does that (Guitar > Fender Reverb > Amp) replicate the same position in the signal chain that the reverb would occupy in, for example, a Super Reverb?
No

In the SR or similar, does the reverb sit before or after the tone stack?
After

And does this mean that the Fender Reverb is the way to get the magical, tube-driven, reverb in a non-reverb amp?
It is a matter of taste

bram9206,

Excellent job!

Do any of the electrolytic caps need replacement? They should be checked at least and replaced if necessary. But hold on to the old ones if you do. Don't trash them.

+1

Every marginal switch, every leaky electrolytic, every dead resistor, any unserviceable component that I remove from a vintage Fender goes into a ziploc bag marked with the amp's nomenclature and S/N so my widow will know what parts go with which amp when it's time for her to put the herd up for sale on Ebay.

Somehow this conjures up an EBay ad:

"L@@k!!! Marginal switches, noisy pots, burnt resistors, leaky caps in a 100% NOS plastic bag!!! All from an amp like the one SRV used!!!!

$100 BIN."
