Hi All-

I need to replace a ceramic cap on the reverb output rca jack on a 72' Super Reverb-2000pf/1K. I can get a couple Circle D 2000pk/2K 20%. Would those work? I can also get some RMC 2000pf/1k 10%. Which would ya'll recommend. Thanks and Merry Christmas, Chris

CDE still makes good ceramic and mica caps in the 1KV and 2KV range. Try to get good tolerance caps (10% better than 20%) -- as NOS can vary as much as 50%. 5% silvers are better still.

Sounds like the way to go. I used a couple 250pf silver micas in a twin reverb rebuild and they sound good. Thanks Beemer.

I went ahead and installed the Circle D 2000pf 2K cap in the reverb input jack since I had a couple. It seems to work fine, but will a 2K cap cause problems since the schematic calls for a 1K cap?

I misread your question. Sorry.

The higher the voltage rating the better the cap's stability under heat. I use 2KV mica's whenever possible. You shouldn't need to worry about it, for the next 50 years.
