I have a 1962 or 1964 Vibrolux Reverb amp. It has one 15in speaker in it. I've had it sence the 70"s. I blew a tube in it 4or5 years ago. I want to replace all the tube's in it. Will that effect other componets in it being, the tube's will have more power. I've been online and can"t find out much on this amp. It is very rare not many was made. The only thing I have ever done to it is replace the reverb unit on it. If someone know where I can find more about this vintage amp, please reply. Thank You.

There is no '62 "Vibrolux" amp with reverb. The first of that marque to offer onboard reverb was the blackface Vibrolux Reverb Amp which debuted in the autumn of 1964. It was the AA864 circuit and featured a pair of 10-inch speakers (usually Oxford 10K5's but periodically Jensen C10R's or C10Q's).

There was a blackface Vibrolux amp (no reverb) that preceded the model above. It was AB763-based and was equipped with a single 12-inch speaker (commonly an Oxford 12M8). Few were made and production ceased after only one year.

Barck88, That's a very nice amp!!! New tubes shouldn't harm anything. But, do they all, need replacement? If the amp is functioning, the rectifier should be fine. If the power tubes are RCA, GE, or the like, they may also be fine. The pre-amp tubes may be weak or noisy...don't know from your post. What kind of problem are you having ? Art

I don't know how to respond to the person's who responded to my question. To the persons that did respond to my question, It probaly is a 1964 black face amp. The dessign and circuits were patented in 62. Under the Made in the USA and UL seal it says
63. But it has a 15in speaker in it and your responds is like they never made one with a 15in back then. It does have a number on it, A 07028. Someone probbaly know's what that means. To the person that ask what is wrong with it, it just would not work one day when I tried to use it. It was about 2007 so don't remember. But one tube was not lit and some look very week looking so I just figured it was a tube. My wife was very sick and I could not afford to have it look at. She past away last nov, and I just wanted to try and get it fix. I miss it.

I would suggest that you post some detailed pics of the amp.

Your A07028 serial number correlates to a Vibrolux Reverb manufactured in 1966.

I have no idea how to post pic on this forum yet sorry. but going through this forum it is the same amp as posted by Nikala Tesla, 65 Pro Reverb and he has very nice pic of the amp. Mine is the same thing, right down to the tubes except mine is a vibrolux reverb and has a 15in speaker and mine's not as clean, I've used mine for 30 yrs. LOL.

Totally meaningless.

We can't offer help until we know what it is we're helping you with.

" I have no idea how to post pic on this forum. "

You first upload the photo file to a Web cloud, like Photobucket. Then, copy the [IMG] file & paste onto dialog box.

Good luck! :D
