No, it uses two 8 ohm speakers in parallel for a total of 4 ohms.

The V30's would be a good sonic fit for your TR. Whichever drivers you decide on, look for something in the 60-75 watt range (each).

WGS speaker makes a great Vintage 30 clone-much cheaper than Celestion and hand-made in the USA. I have them in several Fender amps.

Warehouse Speakers are great - I have a set of the G12C's in my Bandmaster closed cab for my Showman head, and the G12C/S in my open 2x12 Bandmaster combo. Hard to go wrong with them. I replaced a set of Weber California Ceramic 12's with the aluminum dustcaps in the Bandmaster and haven't looked back since.

My chiropractor buddy keeps one in his reception area for testing his patients "before" and "after" treatment.

They were. Swapped them out this year for the WGS G12C/S and couldn't be happier. When I got the Webers, Ted said this was as close as you could get to a D120. For me, turns out it wasn't a sound I was looking for - great low end, but too much high end for me.

JBL's are really great speakers but, there is probably a reason we do not see them in more cabs, bedsides cost and weight issues which would certainly be a factor in their usage. It is my opinion that the current speaker market, though dizzying in its offerings, gives musicians a way to really customize their sound. JBL has probably been a huge influence in what is desirable, or not so, in speakers. I am willing to bet the Weber's are good reproductions. JBL was not the sound you sought.

i am glad the speaker makers in Kentucky (WGS and Emi) are getting followers. They provide excellent speakers at reasonable price points off the shelf. Alnico's not included.

It is also very good that Weber and Tone Tubby are doing what they do. Hemp is a magical tone that is just being discovered. Paper will not go away as it has a distinct tone that many will still consider favorable. More variations for the individual musician.

You'd lose that wager.

The Weber's are nothing like the JBL's. The Lansing is a short-throw driver using a seamless molded cone, with a four-inch coil wound of aluminum ribbon, powered by a 11½ lb alnico magnet structure. There is simply no comparison possible between it and the Weber California, whose engineering and construction are totally different. I have A/B'ed these two speakers side-by-side in identical enclosures and they aren't even close.
