Another victim of Black Friday?

In the meantime... found this ad for the solid-state Twin Reverb. Dig that Coronado II guitar. Ever played on one of these?

I played one of the first-generation solid-state Super Reverb's once, in 1967.

A thunderous-but-toneless turd.

I'd love to have that '66 Jazz Bass though!

Everytime I see a new post on this thread, I think: " Finally, a picture! " Only to be dissapointed.

In all of the Nether reaches of the Internet, there isn't one photo of this solid-state Dual Showman? I mean, you can find photos of K&F amps...

Goes to show you the significance of these Fender solid-state amps to music history.

If Fender ever made one, it must've been aboard the Edmund Fitzgerald and gone down with the ship.

Perhaps.... it never existed.... still like to see this thing... if ever it.... was....
BUT... Solid Stae Fender amps have come a long way since back in the day.
It may have taken a while (like... forever..) BUT... the ones their rocking out now are very good.

+1

Thus far all we have are rumors, innuendo, and friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend anecdotes.

Perhaps someday......

Man, talk about Fender Junkies...we are waiting for a picture of an amp that we all know sounded like crap, may never have been put into production, and is more than likely very similar to a twin reverb! What a sad bunch we can be!

Haha.. Yeah.... but at least we enjoy ourselves... It's good to have a passion for something... and what could be more cool than digging guitars, amps... pedals...
I guess some folks just can't relate.... But, happy I'm one of the ones that can :)

...I finally got the damn thing scanned. I sent it to Arjay who said he could post it here. The picture can probably be played with to make it look better, but it's on the way!!

And here we go......

Image

While this image was not excerpted from an official FMI publication, the photo itself appears to be a genuine PR shot taken by "official" Fender Sales Inc personnel. It reeks of a traditional catalog photo.

Clearly visible are transistorized versions of the Bassman, Twin Reverb, PA system (I once owned one of these), stand-alone reverb unit, and the long-fabled Dual Showman. For reasons which may never be known, the latter was apparently never released for sale. But true to his word, Redfarfisa has delivered. The puzzle may never be solved but we do have another missing piece.

Thanks, Redfarfisa!

... you're more than welcome. I've learned lots from all of you! But, if the SS Dual Showman was supposed to have reverb, I can't imagine where the reverb tank might go. On the original SS amps it went up the side next to the speaker(s). It makes me wonder if this is just some kind of mock-up that never might have been a real amp.
