I am currently experiencing a small issue with the standy switch on my Super Reverb. The amp turns on well, no issues there. However there is an intermittent problem where when I flip the Standby switch after letting the amp warm up, that the amp does not kick in. Tonight it took 3 or 4 tries before the standby finally engaged.

I am going to call the previous owner of the amp to run the problem by him. I am hoping he won't mind having a look at it.

Does this sound like a large issue or could the fix be something as simple as a new switch? If it helps, I played for 2 or 3 hours tonight and the amp absolutely sang. It is just the initial startup that seems to be the problem.

Sounds like worn contacts, Toronado......a pretty common malady with older gear. Easy enough to replace. A SP/ST Carlson switch runs eight or ten bucks on Ebay.
