I was thinking of getting an SF Bandmaster off eBay for 1,050$ and pairing it with a Marshall cab for a good lead tone, with a bit of vibrato in it as well and will there ever be other options ?

Well, you could get a 68 or 69 SF Super Reverb for that price off e-bay and you don't need a cabinet.

Paraphrasing Sam Kinnison......

"MOVE TO WHERE THE AMPS ARE!"

In that case, play your 240V Vox and enjoy its "greatness".

:wink:

American made amp need 60 hz wall frequency , some vintage can work on 50 hz too . You country work in 50 hz . If you use a 60 hz amp on 50 hz wall outlet , you could damage it . Step down transformer is useless for frequency. Only good vor voltage.

Stratele, most vintage Fender amps use 50/60Hz rated power trannies. So they can safely run on either frequency. Only voltage compensation is neccesary.

But, you are correct. Esp running a 60Hz only tranny in a 50Hz country. This combo will most certainly lead to eventual PT failure. Running a 50Hz spec'ed tranny in a 60Hz country is ok --- as long as there is voltage compensation (step-up or -down).

You talk about "first" / older vintage amps.

I write "...some Vintage .....because in in Fender Forum , the post for "Vintage amps" said ;

Vintage amps ( anything before 1985)

I'm pretty shure amp made in 1980 do not work in 50 hz . Don't you ?

Stratele, yes even the Champ used 50/60Hz trannies in 1980. It wasn't until very recent lower end amps (like the RI Champion 600 and the Excelsior) use 60Hz only trannies.

Fender prolly used 50/60Hz trannies well into the 1980's because of inventory and rigging of Schumacher tooling.
